Have a cup of tea

"Of course I’ll hurt you. Of course you’ll hurt me. Of course we will hurt each other. But this is the very condition of existence. To become spring, means accepting the risk of winter. To become presence, means accepting the risk of absence."

I am lucky I am love with my best friend. I don’t think that many people get to say that and mean it. We met when we were 13 years old and kept our friendship for 8 years. Now we are both 21 and living in different cities.I’ve come to realize that ultimately, our closest friends will be those we make when we are young - the ones who have watched us grow through our awkward phase and still accept us with all our imperfections and oddities. Thank you for loving me more than I could have imagined.

I Miss You

Throwback

"Tu me manques."
In French, I miss you translates into something closer to you are missing from me. I love that. Today I missed you very much. I guess I miss you everyday but my mind protects me by letting me shift my thoughts away just as quickly as they arise. 爷爷, 我爱你…

Rewatched one of of Wong’s classics while I was lying sick on my bed. This scene in particular reminded me so much of Double Indemnity.

My favourite spot in Boston! I knew that I would be able to find a nice book shop somewhere in that city. To be specific, it is one of America’s oldest and largest Antiquarian Book Shops. This place does book lovers like me a great service. A must-see.

I couldn’t help but visit the Boston Public Library during my trip. Their grand study hall was amazing to see - I immediately thought of Hogwarts! I tried to be as conspicuous as possible with my photo taking.

“Once in a while it really hits people that they don’t have to experience the world in the way they have been told to.”

― Alan Keightley

Out of all the lessons that I have learned during these past few months of working in the real world, the most significant one has been that it isn’t as scary as it seems. Once you learn to escape the curriculum-following mentality, you realize that the world is more flexible than you thought and you can do almost anything you wish, as long as if you have the determination (and proper means). In the end, what our undergraduate degree really teaches us is simply how to learn. We will never stop being a student for as long as we live. Working for Fashion Week has given me the opportunity to tap into the minds of some of the most intelligent people I have ever met in my life! Since I am back on my tumblr again, I hope to share what I have learned from each individual as I recollect my thoughts…

“Because sending a letter is the next best thing to showing up personally at someone’s door. Ink from your pen touches the stationary, your fingers touch the paper, your saliva seals the envelope, your scent graces the paper. Something tangible from your world travels through machines and hands, and deposits itself in another’s mailbox; their world. Your letter is then carried inside as an invited guest. The paper that was sitting on your desk, now sits on another’s. The recipient handles the paper that you handled. Letters create a connection that modern and impersonal forms of communication will never replace.”
